Hello Volunteers of Your Local Farmers Market Society
Welcome to the brand new blog set-up strictly for the lovely volunteers of the Vancouver Farmers Markets (aka Your Local Farmers Markets Society -or- YLFMS). My hope is to use this as a platform for keeping in touch and recognizing the great work of our volunteers!
Most of you visiting here have been helping us out all summer or in previous season, however for those of you who are new or interested, here is the 411.
Volunteer Co-ordinator = Danno
He’s new and excited to work with you! Send him an email if you have any questions on volunteer opportunities or if you have any ideas or feedback on how to improve things.

An example of the type of volunteers that help us.
Market Host - This is our coveted “hero” volunteer position. Someone who is dedicated to volunteering at a specific market on a regular basis throughout the season! They become a face for vendors and shoppers, helping to answer questions and direct people towards their goods.
Market Day Volunteers - If you are able to help us during any of the above markets, we are always looking for people to help runs surveys, pass out information, and promote our markets.
Sign Wranglers & Distribution Team - Great for people who love to volunteer, but may not have time to help us out during the markets. We can always use help distributing posters, handing out flyers,
Bike Valets - (Kitsilano Market only) Have fun in the sun helping us rack bikes from shoppers who come to the Kits market via bicycle!
Your Ideas - We welcome your ideas on how to help make our market experience smooth and well-known. Shoot me an email with your idea.
